Volunteers

Make A Difference!

  • In addition to our fundraising efforts, our Volunteer Program is a key component to our success in providing our clients quality services.
  • We ask our volunteers to recognize the challenges and rewards of working in a diverse atmosphere and to meet those challenges with an open mind.
  • Our volunteers contribute in many ways:
    • Reception and general office work
    • Food pantry
    • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
    • Providing support to our treatment and prevention staffs
    • Fundraising
    • Newsletter
    • Internships
    • And often, our volunteers recommend and implement new volunteer duties and responsibilities
  • As HIV/AIDS affects every group of people, you will find individuals relecting many aspects of the world we live in:
    • Persons living with HIV/AIDS
    • Heterosexuals
    • Gays and Lesbians
    • Ethnic minorities
    • Racial minorities
    • Persons of various religious affiliations
    • Political and social activists
    • Persons of all age group
    • Current and former drug users
    • A variety of professionals
  • To become a volunteer is easy: you will be asked to complete a 1-page volunteer application. You will participate in a volunteer orientation and receive a Volunteer Orientation Guide.
  • We strive to recognize and appreciate our volunteers in as many ways as possible: certificates and service badges, as well as our Annual Volunteer Appreciation reception.
