Treatment Services

  • ARCOT is unusual in that as we are the sole provider for at least three counties in the Texoma region, we offer a full continuum of care for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/A). Our Continuum of Care includes the following services:
    • Outpatient Medical Care with contracted physicians which includes laboratory and diagnostic services.
    • Medication Assistance both through the Texas AIDS Medication Program (ADAP) and local drug reimbursement for medications not covered by ADAP.
    • Conprehensive Case Management services that include intake, a complete assessment of client need, development of a service plan to meet those needs, and reassessment and mnitoring of the service plan to meet the changing needs of the client. Services not provided in the ARCOT offices are referred to contracted providers in the community. Case management is the "hub" of our treatment services and are supervised by a case manager who has been with our organization for twelve years.
    • Dental Services are referred to Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas.
    • Transportation is a key service provided directly by ARCOT. As we cover three counties, we feel it is a primary obligation to assure that our clients have the means to make appointments that are vital to their well-being.
    • TheFood Pantry is one of our ost utilized client services. The pantry is not intended as a sole resource for client dietary needs, though clients may visit weekly for food pick-ups.
    • Housing and Utility Assistance is available through our Housing Opportunities for People Living With AIDS (HOPWA) grant. This service assists clients with housing, rental and utility payment of insurance premiums, signigicant money is saved for our governments grants.
    • Insurance Payment Assistance is a program for those clients with private insurance. By assisting the client with payment of insurance premiums, significant money is saved for our government grants.
    • Spanish Translation and Sign-Interpretation Services are provided to clients needing those services.
    • Legal Services are provided by local attouneys, as well as the Dallas Legal Hospice, who visit our agency as needed.
    • In 2005, we have begun a Client Support Group that is funded by Abbott Pharmaceuticals. This is a client-run group, with occasional speakers brought in by Abbott to address topics requested by the clients, and food is provided.
Although there is no charge for our services, client need and elegibility are determined by the Case Manager based upon reported income from the client. Amounts that ARCOT is allowed to pay are percentages and based upon the status of the client such as: Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, or no insurance coverage.
